This last week has all been about carrots & chrysanthemums ( & lots of other veggies & flowers!!)
The local village show in Oldbury on Severn is an annual event, we have entries for lots of classes from children as young as 4 years old to the older generation of nearly 90 years young!!
It's very much a local event with "create a vegetable alien" being one of the classes to " the heaviest marrow". There is plenty of input from villagers but I must confess there could be alot more. I would really like lots more childrens entries & local parents please make a pie or some jam & join us for a little "Jam & Jerusalem" it really is good fun when you get going!!
Only one wedding this weekend, Alderley in the Cotswolds, the ceremony at The Hare & Hounds in Westonbirt. A very happy bride loved her bouquets & when we held them up to the bridesmaids dresses you couldn't have got a better match!! She was chuffed to bits :) Woodland theme with Memory Lane & Sweet Avalanche roses, ivy & snowberries, very pretty, pictures to follow
check out my website www.sororidesign.co.uk It tells you the nitty gritty about the business and it's roots!!

A busy few weeks......
Wedding season!! It's seriously manic at the mo... trying to juggle husband, kids & flowers :) I think I'm doing ok.
All the weddings have been amazing, from marquees at Frampton Court to Medeival Banquets at Berkeley Castle & then the Vintage Wedding which was beautiful!!!
On market day last week my day started at 4am & off to buy flowers, I grow as much as possible but could never grow it all!! the cutting garden is mainly English flowers, sweet peas, larkspur, dahlia & cosmos to name a few. These are topped up with flowers from an importer in Bristol called Flowervision. They import from all over the world, I try to buy Fair Trade if I can & also keep an eye on carbon footprints!!!
After market it was back to get the flowers into water, make up table decorations, buttonholes & bouquets, cook some tea, kiss my little boy good night & off to do a wedding consultation in Bristol, home about 8.30pm then check my emails..... It's a good job I've got a good team but thank God it's not that busy every day!!!
As the blog goes on hopefully there will be a better picture of my life as a florist :)
